The idea i wanted to develop for contrasts came from looking at this picture done by David LaChapelle. When i first found this photo, i was drawn to the man in the centre; he stands extremely muscle y and tanned amongst a lot of young boys, with completely the opposite physique to him. I then thought about maybe using the idea of fake and artificial Vs. innocence and natural beauty for my project. For this i could have a photo of a model looking very plastic and fake with alot of make-up on, and maybe even photo-shop the image. Then contrast this photo with a second, this time of the same model, but with no make-up, jewellery, photo-shopping etc. just showing natural beauty, and rawness. Although, i dont know what other images could show this other than appearance; what are other aspects of fake and natural beauty?

Kirsten I think that there are some great ideas there for a project. I really like the idea of photographing the same subject, possibly in the same location, with the same lighting, same clothes, just altering just the make-up or something else subtle about the portrait. And are you still thinking of doing self-portrait? Look at Lauren Greenfield also.
