Here are two images that were taken on the second photoshoot showing depth of field in different ways, by either blurrying the background and keeping the subject matter sharp or blurrying the subject and sharpening the background.
I think that by blurrying the subject matter it works better in this case, showing real contrast between the sharp aspects within the background against the soft edges of the face.

  1. I also love seeing these 2 images together in a diptych because it makes me think of conscious blurring, memory blurring, reality blurring. Your project could be best presented with multiple images to force the contrast. Nicely done.
